RYTHMOPOLIS is a new large-scale immersive event that brings together percussion, acrobatics, dance and new technology. The world premiere will take place on September 6, 7, and 8th on the Place des Festivals in the Quartier des spectacles. Fans of music, rhythm and technology, young, and the young at heart, will be able to enjoy this free outdoor show presented all three evenings at 8:30pm, as well as a program of accompanying activities throughout the event.
A SIXTRUM percussion ensemble creation, this avant-garde production will immerse the public in the heart of the rhythms of the city as they travel through eight tableaux imagined by eight renowned contemporary music composers. Note the participation of the illustrious Tim Brady, Julien-Robert and Julien Compagne (Video Phase), Jean-François Laporte, Pierre Michaud, Sylvain Pohu, Pierre Olivier Roy, Michel Smith and Jean Piché. On stage, the six virtuosic percussionists of SIXTRUM will be joined by another 30 extraordinary musicians. Other participating ensembles include Architek Percussion, EP4, TorQ and Ensemble Karel. While the audience is transported by the vibrations of the musical works, the Place des Festivals will be inundated by the play of fountains modulated by the rhythms of the music, the movement of instruments surrounding the spectators, and virtual reality interconnected with projections that respond to the movements of musicians, dancers and acrobats.
