Frame Drum Workshop, Toronto

In place of the cancelled NAFDA frame drum gathering that was supposed to take place in Toronto on June 19th, I organized a more intimate frame drum workshop with fellow instructor Ken Shorley. Ken is a multi-talented composer/ performer/ instructor based in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, and a great musician. Our workshop, covering lap-style frame drum, Mediterranean tambourine, kanjira, and tar drumming, was held at the lovely Gallery 345, Toronto. Great way to spend a few hours, drumming with such nice folks. Thanks to everyone who attended. We were also really pleased to meet and play with young Persian drummer Naghmeh Frahmand, who is now based in the city. Watch for her!
