!NEWS! 08.2010 | I performed recently in a percussion quartet formed by fascinating composer/ percussionist/ visual artist Jesse Stewart at the Ottawa Chamber Fest, along with Germaine Liu and Mark Zurawinski. Beautiful and unusual sounds on found objects and instruments built by Jesse and Richard Waters.
!NEWS! 04.2010 | To visit on the web- My friend Tamima of Oficina de Pandeiros has re-modeled her website. Chock-full of info about her awesome pandeiros (and beautiful artwork by Juliana, too).

Not to be missed- Professor Trichy Sankaran is releasing a new book, The Art of Konnakkol. The book launch & concert is Thursday, May 27, at the Music Gallery in Toronto, Canada. A major source of inspiration to a multitude of musicians in Canada (including me) and abroad, Prof. Sankaran is a consummate performer of and authority on the subject of South Indian percussion.

!NEWS! 01.2010 | 2010 begins with an extremely busy period touring with Norouet in New York City, and a guest appearance with flutist Kaoru Watanabe in Kenji Williams' beautiful Bella Gaia project at the Drom, in NYC. As well I spent three weeks in Japan for a fun new dance collaboration with movement artist Hideo Arai in Kagoshima, private lessons and a workshop for the Japan Frame Drum Association in Tokyo, and a memorable live session with wa-daiko drummer Tetsuro Naito, fue player Tomoko Takeda and accordionist Saburo Tanooka at Knuttel House, Tokyo. My thanks to Chris Layer, Hideo, Iku & Shinya, Haruhi Taniguchi, ToMoRo and especially Kosei, Yasuko & Michiru-chan for their kindness!

!NEWS! 11.2009 | The new Norouet release N2 is now available from CDBaby.com. Listen to audio clips, buy a copy, and tell your friends!
In the automne 2009 edition of Penguin Eggs magazine, Yves Bernard says "A cocktail mix of trance, folk-pop songs, ornamental waltzes, and other music of the same genre, Norouet is the future of traditional Québecois music... One of the best groups in Trad music of the new millenium."

!NEWS! 10.2009 | Read a review of my solo CD Rheō in latest issue of Percussive Notes magazine, published by the PAS.

"Rheō is a genre-bending collection of percussion-based contemporary chamber/art music. Utilizing his musical expertise on a plethora of percussion instruments and his familiarity with numerous musical traditions, Patrick Graham has partnered with several colleagues and the On Ensemble to create 13 original works that blend world music traditions with contemporary improvisation and composition.
Percussion is clearly at the center of every track on Rheō, and Graham really delivers on every track. His compositional approaches, groove playing and improvisation make this an excellent percussion recording."
-Terry O'Mahoney, Percussive Notes 83
