A new year is a good time to start a new project. So I’ve decided to record 12 solo videos this year, one per month. My aim with this project is to create a playlist of improvised solos on instruments that I don’t have the opportunity to use regularly. This first offering is a piece I’ve entitled ‘Ice Fog’, played on 2 hamon, a type of metal slit drum built by the Japanese artist Saito Teipei, recorded January 8th, 2016. A quiet listening space and headphones are recommended.
