The trip with Constantinople and Ablaye Cissoko to Adelaide, Australia and New Plymouth, New Zealand for WOMAD was a great success.

After a concert in Toulouse, we flew east for the first stop at WOMADelaide 2018. Quite a thrill to be finally visiting Australia and performing at WOMAD, one of the world’s great festivals, under the bat-filled trees of the Adelaide Botanic Park.

Next stop was New Plymouth, for concerts at WOMAD New Zealand. An amazing country, full of very warm people, fewer bats and no kangaroos in sight.

The challenge of playing very acoustic music at a huge festival is the sound quality onstage, namely feedback, and lots of it. While we suffered for the first concerts of the tour, our last gig at WOMAD New Zealand was sublime: amazing sound, a fantastic vibe and audience.
