I’m very excited to be a part of a new trio featuring two of my favourite musicians: Kaoru Watanabe, Japanese flutes & percussion, electronics and Sarah Pagé, harp, koto & bass koto, electronics. Together we are crafting a new project entitled Tenjo No Ao 天上の蒼 which will be presented for the 2022 Festival des musiciens du monde on June 18th.

Tenjo No Ao, ‘Azure of the Heavens’ in Japanese, is a manifestation of sounds alternately celestial and terrestrial, invoking gagaku and other traditional music of Japan, transformed through prisms of original composition, textural improvisation, acoustic spatialization and electronic manipulation.
