I’m excited to announce that I’ll be joining my friend Tetsuro Naito, Tokyo-based taiko artist, for a weekend intensive at the Kaoru Watanabe Taiko Center, April 11 to 13. Tetsuro has been an influential figure in the Japanese drumming community for a number of years and personally I’ve learned a great deal from his ground-breaking playing style and several of his fabulous compositions. We’ll be instructing rhythm, chappa, katsugi-okedo and taiko-set workshops over a three day weekend at Kaoru Watanabe’s center in Brooklyn, NY. Kaoru has an ambitious program planned- the weekend will be filled with blistering rhythms and warm hospitality. Join us!
